Christopher Huyler is a software engineer for Matchmine LLC, a provider of intelligent website customization components. Matchmine takes ratings and other information that users provide and uses them to suggest new content specifically tailored to the user’s tastes. Christopher’s roll in the company is that of a user interface developer primarily working in Adobe Flex and other RIA technologies.
Prior to working for Matchmine, Christopher was a software engineer at CA (Computer Associates) in Framingham, MA for 5 years. Before leaving, he was part of a development group working on the next release of CA Threat Manager, an enterprise anti-virus, anti-spyware, and host intrusion prevention solution. In addition to contributing to the Adobe Flex-based administrative console, he also worked on platform independent portions of the product suite including the installer for Mac, Linux, and Solaris.
Christopher’s other interests include music, movies, and cars. He holds the principal trumpet chair in a community band and jazz ensemble based out of Sharon, MA. The bands meet weekly and perform concerts through out the year for surrounding communities. Before becoming a software engineer, Christopher worked as a projectionist in a movie theater. Although he doesn’t get to see movies for free anymore, he tries to stay current by renting the latest blockbusters and independent films with his wife. On the weekends he enjoys spending time at car shows and regional meets with fellow Mazda enthusiasts from Mazdas247.com. When he isn’t attending shows, he is installing audio gear and other ‘mods’ in his Mazdaspeed6.
